Empowering Emirati Youth – Ethraa’s 2024 Cohort Kicks Off

The Emirates Institute of Finance has revealed the launch of Cohort 3 of the “Ethraa” programme, which will start in September 2024 and wrap up by the end of the year.

This announcement was made during a ceremony hosted at the institute’s Dubai campus.

This phase aims to provide training for over 500 Emirati talents who were hired through the third and fourth “Ethraa” career fairs.

Once these individuals secure jobs in the financial sector, they will begin careers that include continuous opportunities for professional development. Another group of 400 Emirati talents is expected to start their training in January next year.

Saif Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services at the Central Bank and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Institute of Finance Board of Directors, officially opened the event. Several HR directors and representatives from banks and financial institutions across the UAE were present at the ceremony.

Cohort 3 participants will undergo training in 21 specialised fields, including programming, finance and accounting, cybersecurity, information security, data engineering and analytics, auditing, financial technology (FinTech), IT infrastructure and networking, human resources, product management, investment, project management, underwriting, and claims.

Noura Alblooshi, General Manager of the Emirates Institute of Finance, commented, “Thanks to the strong support of our leadership, the ‘Ethraa’ programme has successfully achieved its 2024 goal, bringing over 900 Emirati citizens into the banking and financial sector. The career fairs we organised have played a key role in offering quality job opportunities for young Emiratis. We are certain that our joint efforts will help create a new generation of leaders in the financial sector, prepared to face future challenges.”
